Tays Crafty Crochets

Hello! I'm Tasia Nay, a crochet enthusiast based in St. George, Utah. Crocheting has been my passion since I was a young child, learning the craft at the tender age of four from my grandmother, aunt, and mother. Crochet has been a part of my life ever since, and I've recently taken the leap to turn my love for crochet into a business with the launch of Tay's Crafty Crochets this year.

During the Covid lockdowns, I found solace and inspiration in crochet. I taught myself new stitches and patterns, and my creativity flourished. I ventured beyond my previous comfort zone and started creating plushies, bandanas, bags, and hats, among other items. I discovered a particular fondness for creating plushies, especially cows and dinosaurs, which are inspired by my daughter's love for the prehistoric creatures.

Crochet is more than just a craft to me; it's a form of self-expression and a way to infuse my creations with my soul. My Nana taught me that leaving a mistake in my work allows a little bit of my soul to escape from it. I believe that imperfections give crochet its charm and uniqueness, and that nothing has to be perfect to be beautiful.

Apart from creating plushies and other crochet items, I also have a passion for sustainability. I incorporate eco-friendly materials into my creations, and I strive to reduce plastic consumption by repurposing items like fish scrubbers, mop covers, and tote bags made from recycled plastic. I believe in the power of small changes in our daily lives to make a positive impact on the environment.

As I venture into selling my crochet items online and in-person at markets, my target audience is mainly those who appreciate the value of handmade over mass-produced products. I am excited to see how my business grows and to share my love for crochet with others who share the same appreciation for handmade craftsmanship.
